(IMAESCII521) Intro to Research Methods - Setting the scene

To be honest, if there is one module that I dread in this programme, it would be Research Methods. Although my familiarity with the methods were drawn from my work with academics and researchers in  the university, the thought of me writing my own dissertation scares me. 

Fundamentally, I am considered more as a project manager rather than an academic. Business case studies does not necessarily require one to create empirical research papers. But then, I realise that research is an important journey, not only to be an academic. But also to uncover many aspects, beliefs and meaning that have been hidden over these years, and can plan a significant part in one's learning. 

If there's one piece of inspiration that will keep me going in this module, it is the fact that research is a tool for transformative change and influence. At least I can make a significant research to improve our education sector for once in my life.
