Why Lifelong Learning is 'Bongga'?
Dear Fellow Learners,
I hope you are all having a great learning time of your life!
There are so many 'bongga' (fabulous) blessings we are grateful for - the life we live today, the air we breathe, the water we drink, the family and loved ones we see and communicate each other regularly, our jobs and careers....and many more!
We are also grateful for the new learning we acquire everyday. Every time we learn how to cook a new dish, visit a new country or community, explore unfamiliar domains of knowledge, or even reading a new chapter of a book, they all add up to our skills and competencies that we need to become more relevant in our personal and professional lives. As there are so many disruptions taking place in our society, the advancement of new technologies, the increasingly complex and networked society we are in, the automation of several jobs and potential displacement of manual jobs, there is a pressing need for all of us to pursue lifelong learning and continuing education.
And this inspired me to revisit my blog and re-named it this way. Because I still believe that learning, no matter what age or background you have, should be fun and bongga!
This revitalised blog celebrates our personal and professional milestones in the pursuit of knowledge and personal development. My dream for the world, and in Southeast Asia, is to become a region of lifelong learners. I hope this blog can contribute in a way to that vision.
So please feel free to contribute some stories and share your perspectives as well. I will also be posting updates from different collaborators and lifelong learning institutions from time to time.
Are you ready to be bongga? I am,
McRhon
